Digital wedding invitations

Wedding invitations that arrive sealed, and addressed to each guest.

Your guests get a text. They tap their personal link, an envelope with their name on it turns over, the wax seal lifts and your invitation slides out, with an RSVP button waiting underneath.

  • Free to design
  • $19 one-time to send
  • No app for guests

How it works

Three steps, one guest list

You design the card and add your guests. Text My Wedding sends every guest their own link and keeps track of who replied.

  1. 01

    Design it free

Pick a design, add your names, date and venue, and switch palettes, liners, seals and stamps. No account needed to start.

  2. 02

    Add your guests

Upload a spreadsheet, paste a list or import from The Knot, Zola or Joy. Group households so couples share one envelope.

  3. 03

    Text everyone

Each guest gets a text with their own link and an envelope addressed to them. RSVPs land on your guest list as they come in.

Online wedding invitations, without the inbox

Most online wedding invitations are emails: an e-vite that competes with receipts and newsletters, and only works if you have an address for everyone. Ours are animated wedding invitations delivered as a text message, to the phone number you already have for every guest. Text My Wedding has 40 designs, from engraved classics and black-tie card stock to watercolor gardens, Amalfi lemons and a boarding pass.

Every electronic wedding invitation is personal. Each guest's link opens an envelope addressed to them, or to their household, so nobody types their name into a search box to find their invitation. When they RSVP, the answer lands on your guest list, and the reminders, the shuttle times and the morning-of updates go out in the same text thread.

Text vs. email

How a texted invitation compares to an e-vite

Email invitation services like Paperless Post, Evite and Greenvelope make beautiful cards. The difference is how the card reaches people and what happens after.

Questions

Digital wedding invitations: common questions

How much do digital wedding invitations cost?

Designing is free, and you don't need an account to start. Texting yourself a test is free too. To send to your guest list, you pick a one-time plan, starting at $19, sized by how many texts you plan to send. There is no subscription, no coins and no charge per card or per guest.

Do my guests need an app or an account?

No. Guests receive an ordinary text message. Tapping the link opens the card in their phone's web browser, on iPhone or Android, with nothing to download and nothing to sign in to.

Can guests RSVP from the invitation?

Yes. When you set up RSVPs for your event, an RSVP button appears as soon as a guest opens their envelope, and each response is recorded against that guest on your list. You can then text reminders to anyone who hasn't answered.

How does each guest get an envelope with their name on it?

Every guest gets their own link. The envelope is addressed to the name on your guest list, or to the household name if you've grouped guests together, so a couple shares one envelope addressed to both of them.

What if a guest doesn't have a smartphone?

The text itself says who is getting married and what the link is for, so a basic phone still gets the news. The animated card needs a web browser, though. For the handful of guests without one, a phone call or a printed card is the kindest option.

Can I print these invitations?

These cards are designed for phones and are sent by text, so there is no print file to download. If you also want paper invitations, our free invitation templates are set up for printing and can be sent by text as well.

Can I edit the card after I send it?

Yes. Every guest's link shows the current version of your card, so fixing a typo or changing the time updates it for everyone who opens it. For a change guests need to notice, send a short follow-up text to the same list.

What does the link preview look like in the text?

The preview shows a sealed envelope with your first names and “You are invited”, so the card itself stays a surprise until the guest opens it.

Can I send to guests with international phone numbers?

Text My Wedding sends to US and Canadian phone numbers. Guests with those numbers still receive texts while traveling abroad, as long as their carrier supports international service. Numbers from other countries are not supported yet.

When should I send digital wedding invitations?

Six to eight weeks before the wedding is standard, and ten to twelve weeks for a destination wedding or a holiday weekend. Set your RSVP deadline three to four weeks before the day so you have time to chase late replies.

Can I send a save the date and an invitation in the same design?

Yes. Every design comes as both a save the date and an invitation, so you can send matching cards months apart to the same guest list.
