Thank you texts
A thank you text the morning after, before the cards
Text every guest a personal thank you with a favorite photo from the day, then invite them to upload theirs. The handwritten cards still follow. This just means nobody waits months to hear how much it meant.
- Their name in every text
- A photo from the day
- Scheduled for the morning after
How it's sent
Write it before the wedding, send it the morning after
Schedule the thank you a week early so it goes out the morning after while you sleep in. Make groups for the wedding party, family, and out-of-town guests, and each can get a thank you written for them.
- 1
Pick who gets it
All guests, or a group you made, like Wedding party or Shuttle riders. Someone in two of the groups you pick still gets one text.
- 2
Write it once
Personalize drops in each guest's first name. Add a photo, a map, or an Attachment Page with the details.
- 3
Send now or schedule it
Pick a date and time in your event's timezone, or send right away. Send it to “Just me” first to see exactly what guests get.
Thank you text wording
A short thank you, then two follow-ups that bring the photos together.

The text buys you time; the handwritten card still follows within three months. When you're ready to write those, start with wedding thank-you card wording.
Thank you text etiquette
A thank you text is the quick, warm first step, not the last one.
- Send it the morning after, or within the first week, while the night is still fresh.
- A text doesn't replace a handwritten card for a gift. Send those within three months.
- Make a Wedding party group and a Family group so you can thank people for what they actually did.
- Attach one great photo from the day. It arrives right in the text.
- Use Personalize so every thank you starts with their name, not “Hi everyone.”
Every text, sent the way guests want it
The same tools behind every message you send from Text My Wedding.
Private, one-to-one texts
Every guest gets their own text. Nobody sees anyone else's number, and there's no group thread to reply all to.
Replies come only to you
When a guest texts back, it goes to your wedding's number, not to 150 other phones. Read and answer replies in the app on Plus and up.
Their name, not “Hi all”
Personalize adds each guest's first name, last name, or household name to the same message.
Groups for every audience
Make groups like Wedding party, Shuttle riders, or Out-of-town guests, and text only the people who need it.
Scheduled ahead
Write messages weeks early and they go out on their own, at the time you picked, in your event's timezone.
Delivery for every guest
See who each message reached and which numbers failed, then fix the number and send to the guests who missed it.

Frequently asked questions
Is a thank you text enough?
For coming to the wedding, it's a lovely first thank you. For gifts, still send a handwritten card within three months. The text simply means guests hear from you right away.
Can I attach a photo from the wedding?
Yes. Add one photo (JPG, PNG, or GIF) or one video to the message, and guests see it right in the text.
Can guests send me their photos?
Yes. On Starter and up, you get an upload page guests open from a link or QR code, no app needed. Plus and up adds video uploads and photos guests text straight back to your wedding's number.
How long after the wedding can I text guests?
Up to two months after your wedding date, which is plenty for a thank you, a photo request, and a gallery link.
Do guests need to download an app?
No. Guests get a normal text message from your event's number. Links open in their phone's browser, with no account or password.
What do guests see the first time you text them?
Just before your first message, each guest gets a one-time notice that they'll receive texts for your wedding, with HELP and STOP instructions. Your message follows right after.
How much does it cost?
Each text to each guest uses one message from your plan, and replies from guests are free. Plans are one-time purchases starting at $19 for 50 messages, and every account starts free.
