How it's sent

Write it once, send it to 142 people by name

Import your guest list, write one message, and tap Personalize to start every text with the guest's first name. Attach your engagement photo, paste your website link, and pick the morning it goes out.

  1. 1

    Pick who gets it

All guests, or a group you made, like Wedding party or Shuttle riders. Someone in two of the groups you pick still gets one text.

  2. 2

    Write it once

Personalize drops in each guest's first name. Add a photo, a map, or an Attachment Page with the details.

  3. 3

    Send now or schedule it

Pick a date and time in your event's timezone, or send right away. Send it to “Just me” first to see exactly what guests get.

Tips for texting save the dates

A few habits that keep a save the date text from feeling like spam.

  • Send it 6 to 8 months out, or 9 to 12 for a destination wedding or a holiday weekend.
  • Only text people you're sure you'll invite. A save the date is a promise that an invitation is coming.
  • Use Personalize's “Everyone invited” to spell out who's included, like “Sam, Jamie and guest”, so nobody has to ask about plus ones.
  • Send it to “Just me” first to check the photo, the name, and the link on your own phone.
  • Texts reach US and Canadian numbers. Mail or email a copy to anyone with a number from another country.

Every text, sent the way guests want it

The same tools behind every message you send from Text My Wedding.

Private, one-to-one texts

Every guest gets their own text. Nobody sees anyone else's number, and there's no group thread to reply all to.

Replies come only to you

When a guest texts back, it goes to your wedding's number, not to 150 other phones. Read and answer replies in the app on Plus and up.

Their name, not “Hi all”

Personalize adds each guest's first name, last name, or household name to the same message.

Groups for every audience

Make groups like Wedding party, Shuttle riders, or Out-of-town guests, and text only the people who need it.

Scheduled ahead

Write messages weeks early and they go out on their own, at the time you picked, in your event's timezone.

Delivery for every guest

See who each message reached and which numbers failed, then fix the number and send to the guests who missed it.

Frequently asked questions

Is it OK to send save the dates by text?

Yes. A personal text with their name and your photo feels like a note from you rather than a mass email. Many couples text the save the date and mail the formal invitation.

Can I send a designed save the date instead of plain text?

Yes. Design an animated save the date card and each guest gets a text with their own link. It opens an envelope with their name on it, and the card inside has add-to-calendar buttons for Google and Apple or Outlook.

Can I say who's included in the invitation?

Yes. Personalize can add each guest's household name or everyone invited in their party, plus ones included, so one message reads correctly for couples, families, and single guests.

Can I schedule my save the dates ahead of time?

Yes. Choose Schedule for later, pick the date and time, and the text goes out in your event's timezone. You can edit or cancel it from your Scheduled messages until it sends.

Do guests need to download an app?

No. Guests get a normal text message from your event's number. Links open in their phone's browser, with no account or password.

What do guests see the first time you text them?

Just before your first message, each guest gets a one-time notice that they'll receive texts for your wedding, with HELP and STOP instructions. Your message follows right after.

How much does it cost?

Each text to each guest uses one message from your plan, and replies from guests are free. Plans are one-time purchases starting at $19 for 50 messages, and every account starts free.
