Wedding weather updates
Rain plan? Heat wave? Tell every guest in a minute
Write the sunny version and the rain-plan version ahead of time and save both as drafts. When the forecast settles, send the right one to every guest, so nobody shows up in heels on a lawn in the rain.
- Drafts ready for either forecast
- Reaches every guest
- Send now or schedule
How it's sent
Draft both forecasts, send the right one
Save a sunny-day text and a rain-plan text as drafts the week before. The day before, open the one that matches the forecast from Drafts and send it, or schedule it for the morning.
- 1
Pick who gets it
All guests, or a group you made, like Wedding party or Shuttle riders. Someone in two of the groups you pick still gets one text.
- 2
Write it once
Personalize drops in each guest's first name. Add a photo, a map, or an Attachment Page with the details.
- 3
Send now or schedule it
Pick a date and time in your event's timezone, or send right away. Send it to “Just me” first to see exactly what guests get.
Wedding weather text wording
One text for each kind of forecast.

Rain in the forecast
The plan B
Hi Priya! Rain is in tomorrow's forecast, so the ceremony is moving inside to the Grand Ballroom. Same time, 4:00 PM. - 2
A hot day ahead
The heat heads-up
Hi Priya! It'll be 92° on Saturday. There's shade and water at the ceremony, but dress light and bring sunglasses! - 3
A chilly evening
The layer reminder
Hi Priya! The reception is outside and it gets cool after sunset. Bring a wrap or a jacket - we'll have heaters too!
Outdoor weddings need a rain plan. Build the day around one with our backyard wedding timeline.
Tips for weather texts
Weather texts are about what guests should do, not the forecast itself.
- Save both versions as drafts early, and send the real one the day before.
- Tell guests what to wear or bring: shoes for grass, a layer, an umbrella.
- Say what stays the same, like the start time, so nobody has to ask.
- Outdoor wedding? Plan the rain version before you need it.
Every text, sent the way guests want it
The same tools behind every message you send from Text My Wedding.
Private, one-to-one texts
Every guest gets their own text. Nobody sees anyone else's number, and there's no group thread to reply all to.
Replies come only to you
When a guest texts back, it goes to your wedding's number, not to 150 other phones. Read and answer replies in the app on Plus and up.
Their name, not “Hi all”
Personalize adds each guest's first name, last name, or household name to the same message.
Groups for every audience
Make groups like Wedding party, Shuttle riders, or Out-of-town guests, and text only the people who need it.
Scheduled ahead
Write messages weeks early and they go out on their own, at the time you picked, in your event's timezone.
Delivery for every guest
See who each message reached and which numbers failed, then fix the number and send to the guests who missed it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I prepare a rain-plan text in advance?
Yes. Save it as a draft and find it later under Drafts. When you know the forecast, open it, adjust anything, and send or schedule it.
Can I send a weather update the morning of?
Yes. Send it right away, or schedule it the night before for early the next morning. It goes out in your event's timezone.
Can I add a photo of the backup space?
Yes. Attach one photo or video to the message so guests can see where they're headed.
Do guests need to download an app?
No. Guests get a normal text message from your event's number. Links open in their phone's browser, with no account or password.
What do guests see the first time you text them?
Just before your first message, each guest gets a one-time notice that they'll receive texts for your wedding, with HELP and STOP instructions. Your message follows right after.
How much does it cost?
Each text to each guest uses one message from your plan, and replies from guests are free. Plans are one-time purchases starting at $19 for 50 messages, and every account starts free.
