Three months minimum, and a save the date eight to twelve months out. Guests need to book time off and buy flights, and both get more expensive the longer they wait.
“Join us in Tulum” tells the guest immediately what is being asked of them. Burying the location beneath the couple's names means the ask arrives as a surprise halfway down the card.
If the celebration runs Friday to Sunday, say so on the invitation. Guests book flights from the dates on the card, and a Friday welcome party discovered later is a changed ticket.
Room rates, shuttle fares, and what is hosted versus paid for belong on the details card or website. Guests will find out anyway; finding out early is what lets them say yes.
